As can be seen in the pictures (shown right), one could literally look through my chimney in places. The upper part of the chimney was removed until solid masonry was reached, and then rebuilt. Only a couple of the flue tiles for the hearth were damaged (and these were replaced); however, the gas appliance flue tiles were in terrible shape. Mark installed a Ventinox liner system within the original flue. A new chimney cap was made, damaged bricks were replaced, the chimney was tuck-pointed as needed, and new copper covers were installed. Matching bricks was a challenge – my specific bricks are no longer made. Mark did a great job finding replacements. Throughout the process, the crew kept the worksite clean.
